Cranbrook Rugby Club has a long history in the town and continues to play a vital role in the community.
The club has developed and maintains strong links with schools and community organisations and is widely recognised as adding significant value to the area.
Outside of hosting rugby festivals, County representative matches and County Finals, Cranbrook Rugby Club opens its doors to other sports like lacrosse, athletics, triathlon and cricket as well as hosting private parties, Comedy evenings and the local Slimmers Club.
Not only do we cater for sport but try to provide a hub for the local community.

It is delivered for free, to registered subscribers, with occasional updates to report on topical events.

Please see the links below for a guide to applying for your membership through the RFU’s Game Management System (GMS). I know GMS is far from perfect, but it is a tool with which parents of the Minis and Juniors must access to affiliate their children as players.
Due to GDPR, all members must keep their information up to date. If you cannot remember your password or username, insert the email address that you believe is linked to your account and reset your password. You should now gain access to your account. If you have changed your email address and it is not one linked to your account, then the system will not recognise it. If you are unsure, please contact me.
There are 4 links on page three of the guide which contains the flow diagram. One is a link to the GMS login page; one is a link to my email address if you wish to pay by GoCardless and the other two are in the family membership box entitled One Named Parent and Two Named Parents. If you can’t click on the latter two links, these guides have been separated for you to make it easier.
.Please take time to read all the illustrations in these guides and understand how the cap process works for Family memberships. For example, by clicking on two parents in you family and two children in the Two Parent Membership, the cap will limit the payment to £160, which is the correct family membership figure for the early bird discount before it rises to £175 from 1st October. If you only want to have one parent included in your family membership, then click on the One Parent family membership option for each of your family membership including the one parent and the number of children under the age of 18. Do not be put off by clicking on £160 each time (Note, please read the illustrations all the way through and trust the process). If you need help, please ask, and don’t just plod ahead without reading the guide.
For other types of membership, the process is straight forward.
Note: GMS emails often end up in spam boxes, so please remember to check these email boxes.
Last season's members have a one month grace period before their discounted bar card facility is switched off if they haven't renewed their membership. For any new members that require a Bar Card, please email me. Bar cards can be collected from Mandy at the bar usually within a week of applying for them. If you have requested one in the past, then please check with Mandy first before contacting me. There is a surcharge of £5 for lost Bar Cards so please look after them carefully.

It is with much sadness that we have to report the passing of former Captain Tracy Claridge last Friday.
TRACY CLARIDGE grew up in North London and Essex; moved to Benenden in 1999 via Australia! He had 2 daughters -, 2 stepsons and 2 stepdaughters.
He was the Sales & Marketing Director of a Bordeaux fine wine producer. Tracy sat on various Benenden committees over the years. he was Chairman of the Village Fete committee, PCC rep for the Village magazine, volunteer worker for Catching Lives homeless Charity in Canterbury, and church warden. His hobbies were wine and sport, and he was Captain of Cranbrook 1st XV 1984-88. Tracy was fun, generous and will be very much missed.
Given the current situation and the brave people on the front line at the NHS going above and beyond the call of duty, we donated some of our bar stock to Secamb at Paddock Wood. God knows when we are able to get back to some kind of normality and start playing rugby at the club but we wanted to make a small contribution to these first responders to show them that we really appreciate everything that they do for us #strengthandhonour #heroes #nhs #secamb
The Cranbrook sports club committee consists of a handful of volunteers who are tasked with ensuring that the club functions smoothly and efficiently. Contrary to folklore the committee members are not paid but give up their time willingly.
According to the RFU there are about 60 positions that could be filled on a committee. Currently we have about 15 or 16 carrying out those tasks. Although the committee only meets once a month to look at policy and confirm decisions taken by the subcommittees if necessary, there are decisions being made every week about organisation of events, referee liaison, fixtures at all levels, sponsorship related matters and other problems that arise daily whether great or small.
Several on the committee have been in post for many years, although this season we have recruited some younger members. The reality is that we need more younger members because it is important that we look to succession in order to develop the club in the years ahead; there are challenges in relation to the new clubhouse and to ensure our progress as a sports club. The cricket section have gone from strength to strength, the minis and juniors remain vibrant and it is to be hoped that in the near future promotion for our senior teams will be forthcoming.
Of course we have many volunteers on the playing side of the minis and juniors, but our playing successes could not happen without the administration behind the scenes.
We welcome anyone in the club coming along to committee meetings to see how we operate and the amount of voluntary work carried out. Please feel free to come forward and offer your services. The committee details are in the handbook or on the website. Thank you.
Please refrain from parking on Angley Road and also do not park up on the pavement at Jaegers (or anywhere else for that matter). You will risk a fine from the Police and/or a few sharp words from Club Officials.
If the car park is full at the club then please use the parking facilities at The High Weald Academy further down the road next to the Weald Sports Centre.
