The aim of CRFC’s Mini rugby is to foster and develop young players (girls & boys) of all abilities in the game of rugby in a safe, non-competitive, enjoyable environment through activities which ensure progressive skilldevelopment. Using the foundation of the RFU’s Age Grade Rugby and the progressive development tools guided by Quilter Kids First program. We will ensure all of our coaches are committed to developing young athletes into compassionate and respectful individuals and team members.
We will ensure each player demonstrates thehighest standards of RFU’s T.R.E.D.S (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship) at all times on and off the pitch and external to the club grounds.
Unders 8s play a non contact format called Tag Rugby, where tackles are executed by removing velcro tags attached to Player's belts.
This ensures progressive skill development through the foundation of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline & Sportsmanship (TREDS)
Come give us a TRY.
** National Lockdown Update January 2021 **
Following the Government’s national lockdown announcement, all community rugby activity is temporarily suspended.
However, it is our intent to ensure that our young athletes remain active, continue to identify as one Cranbrook Minis Section, and connect with their team mates. To ensure this, we remain committed to engaging with both current members and the wider community through our virtual lockdown challenge and a series of weekly zoom home training activities. If you would like to join in with our Lockdown 3.0 ‘Minis Walk of Champions’ please contact the U8 team admin firstname.lastname@example.org or alternatively join our Cranbrook RFC Youth page.
For current members, please continue to monitor social media, whatsapp and your emails. As soon as we are able to return to the club, we will let you know.
We look forward to connecting with you all and seeing you all back at our club as soon as we are able to do so. In the meantime please continue to be safe and remain healthy.
